Blocking, reporting, and kids' information
You only see people in your own group, so most of what goes wrong on big networks can't start here. If someone does cause trouble, you can block them, report them, or email us.
Who can see you
People in your group see your name, photo, and bio. Friends you've accepted can see more, and you decide per friend whether that includes your address, your kids' details, your calendar, and your location posts. Nothing is indexed or browsable on the open web. The one thing that opens without an account is an event's invitation link, which shows the event details and the host's name to anyone the host shares it with. The privacy policy has the full table.
Blocking someone
Open the person's page and choose Block from the menu. Corkboard doesn't tell them. From then on they can't see your profile, your address, your kids, your calendar, your posts, or anything else you share with friends, and you stop seeing their messages. Things either of you posted to a shared group stay visible to the group. You can review and unblock people under More, then Privacy & Safety.
Reporting someone
From a person's page, choose Report and pick a reason: harassment, inappropriate content, spam, a safety concern, or something else. Add details if you can. We read every report, and we can remove content or an account when someone breaks the house rules. If we need more from you, we'll email you. To report a specific post or photo, email us with a screenshot.
You can also report anything by email at hello@thecorkboard.app. Tell us who it was and what happened, and attach a screenshot if you have one.
Kids' information
Parents add their own kids and choose which friends can see them. Emergency cards (allergies, medications, contacts) are there so a trusted friend has them during a playdate. They're shared with friends who have the Food allergies and Emergency contacts permissions, which are on by default when you accept a friend. You can turn either off per friend at any time.
Ask before you post a photo of someone else's child. If a parent asks you to take one down, take it down. If someone has added information about your child without your permission, email us and we'll remove it.
Location
Corkboard shares your location only when you post a status or a "Where you'll be" plan with a place and switch on the map toggle. A status pin clears after one, four, or eight hours. A planned-location pin shows only during the window you set. There is no background tracking. If someone is using location posts to make you uncomfortable, block them, and they stop seeing yours right away.
Guests who aren't on Corkboard
Invitation links work in any browser. Guests see the event details and how many people are going, and not the guest list. The host sees each guest's name and reply. Anyone who has the link can open it, so share it only with people you'd invite.
Found a security problem?
Email hello@thecorkboard.app with "Security" in the subject. We'll reply, fix it, and credit you if you'd like. Please give us a chance to fix it before you post about it.
In an emergency
Corkboard isn't an emergency service, and we don't watch it around the clock. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number.
